Hello Guys,
Well, I'm back from my holidays, much rested and *slightly* tanned (well, Brittany is not noted for its sunny weather : )), and what's more, I actually managed to get all of the first drafts for the Armies of Antiquity (AoA) lists completed while I was away. The next stage is to work through the lists and edit them, which I'll be doing over the next few weeks. Quite a few of the first draft versions of the lists are scattered about the internet now, and if anybody here wants to email me personally with comments, I'll be more than happy to read them.
Clearly there has been a lot of discussion about longbows and the War Of The Roses while I've been away. This is interesting, because the list that gave me the most trouble while I was away was the '100 Years War' list. My original intention was to make this the 'English Longbowmen' list, but it quickly became clear that I'd really need to do some other lists to go along with it for the French, Scots, Irish, etc. As there really isn't space for all these extra lists in AoA I've decided to leave the lists out all together, and include the 'Designers Cut' notes on Barbarian tribes instead. Hopefully we'll be able to return to the War of the Roses and 100 Years War later on, and do a proper army book with a full set of lists and extra rules for early gunpowder weapons, etc.
